Experience the Zugerberg in Winter

In winter, too, the nearby Zugerberg is a great place for a family excursion. Besides the fresh air and beautiful views, the mountain is home to 27 km (17 miles) of prepared cross-country trails, a 2.5km (1.5 mile) long toboggan run right down into the valley, and two small ski lifts, which are particularly suitable for children.

Less sporty visitors can take a walk along one of the four winter hiking trails. And when temperatures are particularly low, you can even ice skate on a natural ice rink. The Zugerberg is easily reached from Zurich by car or public transportation. Once you have arrived in the valley, the Schönegg funicular will transport you in comfort to the top of the mountain.
