Lichthalle Maag

Illuminated and animated art set to music enthralls a broad public in Zürich-West.

From April 25 – October 22, 2024

This 360-degree experience takes you into the world of Leonardo da Vinci – the universal genius of the Renaissance. The multifaceted life of the artist, scientist, engineer, and inventor is showcased using high-performance video projections, together with lighting and acoustic effects.

The immersive production presents da Vinci’s precise observations and revolutionary inventions, from painting to mathematics and anatomy. More than 30 projectors bring his works and inventions to life, allowing viewers to enter a world that is entertaining, captivating, and fascinating all at the same time.

Based on the model in Paris, the Atelier des Lumières, the Lichthalle MAAG presents great artists and their famous works quite literally in a completely new light. Visitors do not stand in front of the painting in the traditional way, but “immerse” themselves in it.

Art can thus be experienced in an entirely new way. Children and young people, in particular, can experience a totally new approach to the great masters through animations and accompanying soundtracks.
